We’re counting down the days until we can get together for this year’s GIFT edition, running from Friday 30 April to Sunday 2 May. And whilst we still can’t quite give you the thrills and spills of a physical in-person GIFT experience, The GIFT Exchange, all happening online, is the very next best thing.
Designed for artists, by artists, the festival programme covers twenty-five digital events connecting artist conversations and explorations across all areas of contemporary theatre and performance, after one of the most difficult years on record for the arts and practitioners. An open invitation to meet fellow artists, share the highs and lows of pandemic performance-making, gain fresh creative inspiration and ideas, learn about, and get involved with, some really great new projects and plan works together for the years ahead.
Have a look at the full weekend programme here, and dip in and out of the festival weekend as you like, to link up with friendly faces from the North East and across the globe. Tickets are free but you need to book to save your seat.
Visit experts one-on-one in workshops and tutorials, add your voice to intimate group sessions on pressing practice-based issues or just sit back and watch in peace with your camera off (all the while missing very little beer garden activity). We’d love to see you next week.
