New for GIFT18
For the first time this year, we're bringing some of our GIFT events to the brilliant Thought foundation in Birtley, Gateshead.
Here's a quick Q&A with Leanne Pearce, the Thought Foundation's co-founder & co-creative director...
Why are you involved with GIFT this year?
When we had our first meeting with Kate Craddock (GIFT's director) to discuss hosting some of the GIFT line up we were so excited! We feel that what GIFT has previously achieved and the potential for the festival is endless. We love boundary pushing art and creativity in all its forms and GIFT certainly does this, showcasing new, significant theatre companies in a way in that is compelling and new.
For people that have never been before, what can they expect when they visit Thought Foundation?
Thought Foundation is an arts and culture space in an unique setting, in the heart of Birtley in Gateshead. We have an open plan creative space/gallery, indie shop selling beautiful, local artisan products, our BRAIN FOOD cafe offering homemade, good-for-you food, and an imagination station for small humans and a workshop. We host countless exhibitions, events, conferences and workshops in a boundary pushing yet nurturing way. We are a family run social enterprise to promote, inspire and support creatives and the wider community.
We'll be sharing a number of events at Thought Foundation on Sunday 6 May including:
- Breakfast & Discussion event - And She. Open Rehearsals with Bonnie AndThe Bonnettes - Draw to Look by Hannah Sullivan
