Gateshead International Festival of Theatre to bring international artists and audiences together online, through the global pandemic, with a digital, ten year celebration of performance art, creativity and human connection.

Today Gateshead International Festival of Theatre, (GIFT) announces that its scheduled three day festival programme of contemporary theatre and dance performances, talks and workshops will go ahead (between 1st and 3rd May 2020) as an internationally accessible digital version, to safeguard artists and audiences from the further spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Featuring a vibrant, bite-sized programme exploring human connection, international identity, sustainability in art and climate emergency solutions, GIFT’s 2020 digital offering will take place online on 1st to 3rd May. The festival aims to reaffirm the importance of the arts and artists, throughout the current global pandemic, and create a safe space for self-isolating artists and audiences to share human stories, ideas and contact, and encounter new works and big ideas. Full line-up announcement, coming soon
