About

Step into the world of Kuchipudi, a vibrant and expressive South Indian classical dance blending grace, rhythm, and storytelling. Led by Payal Ramchandani, this interactive workshop is open to adults and young people (ages 10+), with BSL interpretation provided for accessibility. No prior dance experience is needed—just curiosity and a love for movement!

What to Expect:

✔ Learn foundational movements, intricate footwork, and expressive hand gestures (mudras).

✔ Explore storytelling through dance, bringing emotions and narratives to life.

✔ Experience the rhythmic energy and dynamic flow unique to Kuchipudi.

✔ Develop coordination, confidence, and creativity in a supportive space.

This workshop is part of Just Enough Madness, Payal’s solo dance-theatre production, which delves into mental health, motherhood, and miscarriage grief. Combining contemporary and mythological narratives, the performance challenges societal norms, fostering dialogue and empathy. Using creative exercises and storytelling, participants will express untapped emotions through facial expressions and body movement, exploring new ways of self-expression.

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a beginner, this immersive session offers a unique opportunity to connect with a rich cultural tradition while engaging with important social themes. Join us for a meaningful, movement-filled experience!
