Artist biographies
XOSECRET (Secret Theatre) is an experimental theatre company based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia, led by artist and director Dustin Harvey. The company creates participatory performances and immersive works that blend theatre, storytelling, and emerging technologies, inviting audiences to become co-creators rather than passive spectators.
Secret Theatre’s work is rooted in Atlantic Canada while reaching outward through touring and international partnerships. Projects often combine participation, sound, and performance strategies to create shared experiences that ask what it means to be together—especially in a culture that can make us feel increasingly separate. The company is interested in making work that is emotionally direct, formally inventive, and capable of meeting audiences in unconventional spaces.
XOSECRET has presented work across Canada and internationally, with audiences experiencing projects in festival, gallery, and site-specific contexts. The company’s practice is marked by a small footprint, adaptability, and a commitment to designing experiences where the “work” of meaning-making is shared between artists and audiences.
